The dual system of paying bus fares will continue indefinitely.
Land Transport Authority CEO Naisa Tuinaceva confirmed this saying they will decide later on whether they really need cash less system or not.
Tuinaceva said till further notice passengers can pay bus fare through cash or e-ticket medium.
He added that for tourists and non frequent travelers it is understandable to pay bus fare with cash in any bus.
Meanwhile according to the Vodafone Corporate Affairs Manager Shailendra Prasad, 40,000 new e ticketing cards have arrived in the country and they will have sufficient stock in hand when they start issuing the cards.
