The principal of Marist Brothers High School Susau Managreve has been suspended pending further decisions by the Education Ministry and the Public Service Commission.
Education Minister Filipe Bole confirmed that the Board of Trustees of the all boys secondary school had brought up allegations of the misuse of school funds by the principal.
Bole said the Ministry then conducted its own investigation into the matter and recommended that Managreve be suspended.
Fijivillage has received confirmation that the principal has been suspended without pay.
The vice-principal is now acting in his position.
Fijivillage has spoken to some officials linked to the school who confirm that the principal was suspended without pay after they discovered that he was allegedly abusing the funds from the Trust Fund account.
The amount of money involved at this stage is not known.
