School heads around the country have been told to closely monitor Tropical Cyclone Pam which is located near Solomon Islands.
Acting Permanent Secretary for Education, Kelera Taloga said they have also told the school heads to begin preparations.
Taloga said they have already sent advice to all their heads in primary and secondary schools to start securing their property and move them to higher ground and look at things like trimming trees, putting up shutters and replacing missing windows.
Meanwhile Minister for Agriculture Inia Seruiratu has also called on farmers to be prepared and to stay alert.
