Vegetable prices have started to increase in Labasa due to the drought and a shortage of vegetables.

Agriculture Principal Officer Northern John Cox said the drought is one of the contributing factors to the increase in the price of vegetables.

Cox added that parts of Macuata and Bua are badly affected.

He said farmers are facing difficulty in planting vegetables due to the prolonged dry weather condition.
