Fiji Roads Authority’s contractor Fulton Hogan Hiways is working on restoring normal traffic flow in Lami, along Queens Road.

The Authority says the project team has two crews who have been working 24 hours in the past week to complete this project however a revised programme will see both crews now programmed to work at night and outside of peak hours.

FRA says it was also reported that there was an earlier accident on the Lami side of the Police post which caused the initial delays earlier this afternoon.

A motorist who was stuck in traffic in Lami called us at 1.50pm today and said that the road contractor has closed part of the road and this had caused a major traffic jam.

The contractor was carrying out major works in the day.

It was earlier highlighted that some busy roads will undergo repair works at night.

The site on Queens Road from the Tamavua‑i‑Wai Bridge to the roundabout is an active project site that will receive a new sealed surface.
