More than 500 students of Holy Cross Secondary School in Taveuni will be able to have access to electricity as a new Holy Cross Grid and House Wiring Project was launched in the school today.

While commissioning the project Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama said students will now be able to study late into the night.

Bainimarama says they will have access to computers, lab equipment and copiers and they will learn in a bright welcoming environment instead of worry about access to electricity.

The electrification project has been completed at a total cost of $178,842 which has been funded by the Government.

Meanwhile, school principal Basilisa Lalama says there are close to 120 boarding students in the school and it will be easy for them to do their homework and prepare well for the exams.

The school has 16 classroom blocks and 14 staff quarters.
