A fight against WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder in the near future appears off the menu for Joseph Parker.
Overseas reports suggest undefeated American Wilder will make his comeback to the ring from injury against Polish fighter Andrzej Wawrzyk on February 25th.
The bout between Wilder and Wawrzyk, ranked No 12 by the WBC, is rumoured to be taking place on February 25 in the title holder's home town in Alabama.
While nothing has been confirmed, the front‑runner to face Parker in his first defence on the WBO belt appears to be young English fighter Hughie Fury.
