Fiji Airways National Men’s 7s Coach, Gareth Baber has confirmed that he is looking at options to bring in overseas-based players for the Commonwealth Games and Rugby World Cup Sevens.

Baber says that he is looking at players like Josua Tuisova, Leone Nakarawa and Semi Kunatani if their respective clubs release them.

He adds that the door is always open for local players to prove themselves worthy of the white jumper, as he will not hesitate to bring them into the training squad.

Meanwhile, 20 players are currently in the squad for the Sydney and Hamilton 7s.

Baber says players like Eroni Sau, Sevuloni Mocenacagi and newcomer Alosio Naduva are back in the squad to add pace and size to the team.

Speedster Banuve Tabakaucoro is not in camp due to injury.

Fiji is pooled with New Zealand, Samoa and Russia in the Sydney 7s.

The Sydney 7s will be played from the 26th to the 28th of this month.

The team will be named next week.
