A 31-year-old farmer convicted of a count each of burglary and theft has been sentenced to 22 months imprisonment by the Levuka Magistrates Court today.
Joji Salei broke into a person’s home and stole cash and four packets of cigarette to the total value of $62 on 22nd December last year.
Magistrate Shageeth Somaratne said that with the increase in the number of home invasions in this country a deterrent sentence is warranted to protect the public.
