A heavy rain warning is still in force for Viti Levu, Vanua Levu, Yasawa, Mamanuca Group, Lau, and Lomaiviti group.

Nadi Weather Office Director Ravin Kumar says people can expect heavy rain from today to this weekend.

A low-pressure system is sitting South of the Fiji group and continues to move towards the group.

He adds that there is no immediate flood warning, however, Kumar has stressed that continuous heavy rain has a high potential to bring about flash flooding and people living in low lying areas should take necessary precautions.

Director National Disaster Management Office, Anare Leweniqila says evacuation centres will be open according to the area of need on the ground.
