The Fiji Football Association has suspended Iosefo Verevou from six district level matches and has fined him $5,000.
Verevou has also been ordered to pay Suva soccer $782 compensation before he is allowed to play for Rewa.
Fiji FA CEO Mohammad Yusuf says the Board of Control looked at Verevou’s case where he had signed and given statuary declaration that he wants to move to Suva from Rewa.
Suva incurred a cost during this period for Verevou’s housing.
Yusuf says Verevou then decided to return to Rewa and wrote a withdrawal letter.
He says, as a result, they have found that Verevou used deceptive tactics to gain financial advantage.
Yusuf says they are not penalizing Rewa but Verevou.
Meanwhile, the Vodafone Premier League resumes this weekend where Labasa will play Dreketi at 1.30pm Saturday while Rewa will play Nadi at 3pm Sunday.
