Tickets to the Hamilton 7s has been sold out and more than 50,000 fans expected to watch the tournament this weekend.
Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s team captain Jerry Tuwai believes they have a big task ahead of them this week.
With teams looking to get valuable points which will help them climb the series table and improve their Rugby World Cup Sevens seeding ahead of San Francisco in July, Tuwai says they will take each game as it comes.
At this stage last year, South Africa had won two of three events and were 12 points clear of Fiji but, there is no mountain to climb in the series standings just yet.
While South Africa currently lead the series, it’s not by much, just four points.

Hosts New Zealand will also be looking to get back on track after coming up short against Sydney 7s champion Australia.
However, that’s not stopping Tim Mikkelson relishing the opportunity to play in his hometown of Hamilton.
Mikkelson says it will be a special moment for some players to play in front of their families and friends.
Fiji will take on Wales in their first game at 10.36am Saturday, they will then face Spain at 2.02pm before taking on Australia at 5.50pm Saturday.
The medal quarterfinals will start at 10.36am Sunday, the semifinal will be at 2.49pm while the final will start at 6.03pm Sunday.
