Police Commissioner Sitiveni Qiliho has stressed that the Fiji Police Force is apolitical and will work with communities in addressing issues that affect them and the government of the day.
Responding to comments by the Fiji Labour Party that the Police Commissioner should not be going around the country with the Prime Minister and Attorney General, Qiliho says they have to work with the government of the day on these issues.
The FLP says the Police Commissioner should not have been at the Public Forum in Nakasi on the desecration of temples with the Attorney General and other members of government.
He says the Police Commissioner should be independent.
Qiliho says if there is any other community or organisation that wants them to speak on policing issues, they will be there.
