Thousands of people will be affected by water cuts and low pressure from today until tomorrow evening due to adverse weather conditions in some parts of Suva.
The Water Authority of Fiji has advised that the affected areas include Delainavesi, Uduya/ Panaromic, Veisari /Waiqanake, Samabula/ Rewa Street, Waimanu Road/ Toorak, Ratu Sukuna Road, Tacirua and Tamavua.
The Authority says the disruption is a result of extremely dirty water entering into the raw water intakes of Waila and Tamavua systems due to heavy rainfall in the upper catchment area.
It says the dirtiness of water has reduced water production capacities causing low water levels in the reservoirs.
The Authority says supply is expected to be gradually restored from today up to Saturday evening but restoration will depend on weather conditions.
Residents of those areas are advised to store and use water wisely
