31‑year‑old Ravindra Deo has been acquitted of rape and sexual assault charges and is a free man now.

It was alleged that Deo had raped a 16‑year‑old girl in the year 2011.

High Court Judge Justice Vincent Perera in agreement with the three assessors found him not guilty of the charges laid against him.

Justice Perera while delivering his judgment said that the complainant's evidence was not credible and she had not cooperated in the trial.
