The third prosecution witness in the Nakasi murder trial told the Suva High Court that Alipate Naimoso and the deceased started the fight.

Waisea Waqatavu who was the service station attendant told the court that the deceased threw the first punch on Naimoso who was the service station attendant during the time of the incident.

Four men are charged in relation to the death of a 21-year-old man outside a service station in Nakasi in 2016.

Alipate Naimoso, Epeli Tucila, Saimone Tucila Snr and Saimone Tucila Jnr are each charged with a count of murder.

Waqatavu further stated that Naimoso and the deceased were challenging each other.

Waqavatu said that when the deceased fell on the ground he put his hand over his head.

Defence lawyer, Shantel Hazelman asked the witness if he saw where Naimoso's punches landed on the deceased.

The witness said he did not know.

Hazelman further questioned Waqavatu if he saw a boy kicking the deceased's head to which Waqavatu said he did see the boy kicking but doesn't know where his kick landed.

The fourth prosecution witness will give evidence today before Judge Justice Riyaz Hamza.
