The Police Prosecutor in the Western Division, Anil Prasad has confirmed they will be formally writing to the Director of Public Prosecutions to withdraw charges against Tariq Bahadur who is accused of sexual assault.
Police will be making this formal recommendation after Lautoka businessman Saiyad Faizal Aslam Khan also known as Dennis Khan is alleged to have conspired with others and accused Tariq Bahadur of sexual assault.
Khan has been charged with two counts of Perverting the Course of Justice and Interfering with Witnesses.
Khan has been remanded in custody by the Lautoka High Court for 14 days.
