Four people have died while one person is still missing after being washed away by flood waters during Tropical Cyclone Josie.

The four people have been identified.

Police confirm they are continuing the search for a 19-year-old man who was washed away by flood waters in Sabeto in Nadi.

Two people were found in Uciwai in Nadi after being swept away by strong currents.

The 55-year-old man and 25-year-old woman were in a vehicle washed away by strong currents on the Uciwai Bridge.

A 52-year-old woman was found in Vatulaulau in Ba while 59-year-old man was found in Drasa in Lautoka.

Roads

Queens Road is now open to traffic.

Kings Road is now open after floodwaters at Ba Town in Wailailai Flats have receded.

In Koronivia, residents say second crossing along Koronivia Road is flooded and can only be accessed by heavy goods vehicles.

Please note that there is a lot of debris on roads that were flooded.


Ba:

A landslide has cut off access to hundreds of people living in Talaiya in Ba.

Flood waters parts of Ba Town have receded and the District Officer Ba has confirmed that Ba Town is now open.

Police have confirmed that Wailailai flats and Yalalevu are also affected by flood waters however water levels are receding.

 

Nadi:

The Nadi backroad is still flooded.

Police have confirmed that the Nadi bus stand and parts of Nadi Town is still flooded.
