The trial of a 35-year-old man charged with one count of rape has started before High Court Judge Justice Salesi Temo.

The accused, Rajinesh Kamal Narayan who is a taxi driver allegedly raped a 16-year-old student at Suva Point on September 13th 2016.

State Counsel Lavenia Bogitini opened the prosecutions case this morning and has made an application for name suppression and a closed court session which has been granted by Justice Temo.
