The Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama visited Navesau Adventist High School and stressed the need for students to ensure that students practice cleanliness within their own surroundings.
During the visit Bainimarama witnessed the administration of Meningococcal C vaccinations to all students who have been granted written consent from their parents at the school.
Bainimarama says as students they need to make sure that they practice good hygiene and they will be able to free from such diseases.
The Ministry of Health had earlier stated that of the 38 cases of Meningococcal so far in 2018, there were 6 from Navesau Adventist School and none of the 2018 deaths has been from Navesau Adventist School.
Prime Minister was accompanied by the Minister Health Rosy Akbar.
A team from the Ministry of Health and Medical Services will be based at the school to monitor the situation.
Prime Minister Bainimarama toured the school which accommodates close to 300 boarding students.
