“If we go to trial and you lose the case there will be no mercy”
These were the words of High Court Judge Justice Salesi Temo during the appearance of five men that pleaded not guilty to one count each of aggravated robbery and one count of theft.
Justice temo says the people of Fiji are crying out to the increasing number of theft and burglary cases nowadays.
He says all those people that have found crime as a cost of living will be taken in.
Temo says any young person must know that there is a lot of i-Taukei land to be utilized then opting into crime as a source of receiving money.
Jone Vonu, Asaeli Bulitautini, Waisake Loabure, Iosefo Lomaca and Rovereto Tamanivalu, were alleged to have broken into the house of the complainant and stole assorted items including laptops, watches, bags, jerseys and other items amounting to $20,212.
The alleged incident took place in Raiwaqa on the 1st of May 2017.
They have all been remanded in custody and the case has been adjourned to the 15th of June.
