Good News for local firms involved in the Construction Industry as they will soon have the opportunity bid for international tenders.

This comes after the announcement of the possible introduction of the new International Construction Measurement System.

Fiji Institute of Quantity Surveyors President, Ron Rova has highlighted that the new International Construction Measurement System has already been adopted by 45 professional bodies around the world adding that this will be a good opportunity for Fiji to be able to use the new standard to benchmark our work against others around the world, also allowing local firms to bid for international tenders.

Construction Industry Council President, Gordon Jenkins says this newly established standard system of measurement is similar to how Accountants adopted the International Financial Reporting System.

Jenkins says that the overall objective is to come up with specific resolutions that lead to effective developments that will benefit the construction industry and the economy.
