The Water Authority of Fiji has undertaken major works on water and wastewater systems in Labasa.
Board Director, Hemant Kumar and Director for Water and Sewage, Susana Valemei and other senior staff from Water Authority of Fiji visited sites and assessed works to be going well.
They also visited major ongoing projects in Labasa, such as the sewer mains upgrade from Nivis Road to Damanu, as well as the Rara Reservoir.
The tour concluded after visiting the new depot site in Vatunibale.
Kumar says that the Authority’s board and management are closely monitoring the systems in the Northern Division in terms of future projects to expand and extend its coverage for the demand in the near future.
The Authority also held the second round of its suppliers and plant hire contractors forum in the Northern Division.
The forum provided contractors with a better understanding of the plant hire process and gave them the opportunity to discuss the key terms and conditions of agreements.
