Two women aged 68-years-old have passed away after a road accident in Waimalika in Nadi last night.
The alleged incident occurred after 10pm yesterday.
The two were passengers in a vehicle which collided with a bus which was headed towards Nadi.
It is alleged that the driver fell asleep causing the vehicle veer onto the opposite lane.
Police say one woman died at the scene while the second woman passed away at the Nadi Hospital.
Two other passengers which includes a 7-year-old boy and the driver of the vehicle are admitted at the Nadi Hospital as investigations continue.
The road death toll currently stands at 22 compared to 19 for the same period last year.
