Police have questioned the driver of the vehicle that was involved in an accident that claimed the lives of two 68-year-old women in Waimalika, Nadi.
The driver is yet to be charged.
The alleged incident occurred after 10pm on Sunday.
The two were passengers in a vehicle which collided with a bus which was headed towards Nadi.
It is alleged that the driver fell asleep causing the vehicle veer onto the opposite lane.
The road death toll currently stands at 22 compared to 19 for the same period last year.
