Detective Constable Samuela Namusu told the Suva High Court that it took three days to look for Imshad Izrar Ali who is alleged to have killed his partner.

Ali is charged with the murder of his 34 year old partner at their Howell Road home in Suva in 2009.

The deceased who was a kindergarten teacher was allegedly strangled to death inside her home.

Namusu said that they were looking for Ali to interview him regarding the murder of his partner.

He adds that they received a call from the receptionist of a motel in Suva informing them that Ali had just checked in.

Namusu told the court that the previous night which was the 11th of November 2009, they had shown Ali’s picture to the receptionist of the motel and that is how he was able to identify him.

The Detective Constable said the next day they arrived at the motel to take Ali in for questioning however as soon as Ali was advised about this, he suddenly turned and wanted to return to where he came from.
