Two men who are alleged to have assaulted a police officer appeared before Magistrate Waleen George this afternoon.
Jale Uciboi and Osea Koli Junior are charged with a count each of serious assault.
It is alleged that the two assaulted Inspector Netani Seruwaqa who was on duty on the 26th of this month in Nabua.
It is alleged that Uciboi and Koli Junior who were drunk were making noise in a parked vehicle along Rifle Range Road when the police officer approached them to warn them and that is when they started punching the police officer.
Magistrate George says she will not grant bail to anyone who assaults a police officer.
The two have been remanded in custody and will appear in court this Friday to take their plea.
