The rape trial of a 87-year-old man has started before High Court Judge Justice Salesi Temo this morning.

The man is charged with two counts of rape and a count of sexual assault.

It is alleged that he raped and sexually assaulted an 11-year-old girl who was a tenant at his house between the 19th of April 2016 and the 31st of May 2016 in Nasinu.

The man pleaded not guilty to all the counts this morning.

The victim was giving evidence in a closed court session this morning.
