Businesses look for stability and policy in any National Budget and in the last few years, government has been offering certain levels of stability.

This was highlighted by Fiji Commerce and Employers Federation CEO, Nesbitt Hazelman who hopes that the next National Budget will continue to have policies that can help businesses thrive in our economy.

He adds that the Federation is looking for some relaxation on the various taxes particularly in the hotel industry.

Hazelman also highlighted that they believe the next budget will be people centred and will look after the people bearing in mind that the nation is also going into national elections this year.

He says while taking all the social obligations into account, he hopes the national budget will also consider the plight of the small, medium and micro enterprises as they are also great employers in Fiji.

Minister for Economy, Aiyaz Sayed‑Khaiyum will deliver the 2018/2019 National Budget at 7.30pm Thursday.
