The trial of a 65-year-old man charged with two counts of rape and a count each of sexual assault and indecent assault of his granddaughter has started before High Court Judge Justice Riyaz Hamza.
It is alleged that the man raped his 17-year-old granddaughter between April and August 2013 in Gau.
It is also alleged that he confessed to a church pastor on 29th November 2015 that he raped his granddaughter as he was not having sex with his wife for six to eight months.
The victim is giving evidence in a closed court session.
