The Gallagher Chiefs have arrived at Nausori Airport ahead of their crucial Super Rugby clash against the Pulse Energy Highlanders this Saturday at the ANZ Stadium.
Some of the All Blacks stars who are part of the Chiefs touring squad include Damian McKenzie, Sam Cane, Charlie Ngatai and prop Karl Tu’inukuafe.
Fiji born flanker Pita Gus Sowakula is expected to play this weekend.
Meanwhile Highlanders defence coach Glenn Delaney said the side had come back together quickly and on the back of some good work during the June break.
Having so many Highlanders involved with the All Blacks, especially in the third Test, had been exciting and Delaney said it was always a thrill to see players selected and achieving their potential.
He adds that the Chiefs are dangerous runners with the ball and first five‑eighth McKenzie had showed his ability for the All Blacks.
Delaney says they are also expecting big support in Fiji as Iliesa Tanivula, Manasa Bari and Aisea Tuilevu have also played for the Highlanders in the past.
Meanwhile the Highlanders will be arriving tomorrow and they will host the Chiefs at 7.35pm this Saturday at the ANZ Stadium.
