Questions and motions were moved in the SODELPA AGM however they were rejected by majority of the party members.

Leader of Opposition, Ro Teimumu Kepa raised the question on how SODELPA can run the next government if they cannot even pay their workers well.

Ro Teimumu raised this concern as she said that the party office workers were crying for overtime pay due to them totaling $3,179.00.

Ro Teimumu added that SODELPA has around $100,000 in its savings from the money that was given to them from the Parliament Grant in the years 2016 to 2018.

She says that the workers are an important component of how SODELPA is operating and should get their overtime pay.

Party General Secretary, Adi Litia Qionibaravi said that the staff in the office had signed a contract which also stated that they will take time off for overtime.

Ro Teimumu replied that she had not seen the contents of the contract and she would have asked for a review if she knew that this has been the case.

Meanwhile SODELPA President, Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu also informed party members about a motion from Ratu Isireli Vesikula who now resides in the United States, calling for the exclusion of Sainiana Radrodro,  the wife of SODELPA  parliamentarian, Aseri Radrodro from any party activities following some of her posts on social media.

The motion also said that they support Rabuka and SODELPA's Lynda Tabuya.

Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu did not allow the matter about Sainiana Radrodro to be discussed in the AGM.

Sainiana Radrodro refused to make any comments.

SODELPA MP, Aseri Radrodro also raised at the AGM that the Naitasiri constituency had brought up a  "Vote of No Confidence"  against current Party General Secretary, Adi Litia Qionibaravi.

The motion  was withdrawn after discussions on the issue by party members.

Towards the end of the AGM, Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu highlighted that the Naitasiri constituency has stated that their reason for their motion to remove the General Secretary was because of abuse of office.

Ratu Naiqama said that there is insufficient explanation to support the motion.

He also highlighted that it was disappointing to see Naitasiri raise the vote of no confidence against Adi Litia as they are supposed to be her Bati (warriors).

Ratu Naiqama also says that Adi Litia was the successful CEO for two of Fiji's Prime Ministers, Laisenia Qarase and party leader Sitiveni Rabuka.

The Naitasiri constituency was told to go back with their motion.

Ratu Naiqama says that he hopes that Adi Litia will get a seat in Parliament after the 2018 General Election.

Meanwhile Rabuka said after the meeting that SODELPA is more united now than ever before.

He says that the issue of factions within the party has been dealt with adequately by the party President, Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu during the AGM.

He adds that people were allowed to vent their feelings and everyone has agreed to push forward together as they are now standing at the door of the 2018 General Election.
