Having the heart to help the needy, Fiji Wheel Chairs is committed to working to reach out to those who need wheel chairs but may not be able to afford one in partnership with the Ministry of Health and Medical Services.

Health Minsiter, Rosy Akbar has met with the volunteer and founder of Fiji Wheel Chairs, Chetan Singh Heyer and Himmat Lodhia to discuss the areas of collaboration.

Akbar acknowledged the Fiji Wheel Chairs for their work and also acknowledged the support of the business communities in Fiji for their efforts in reaching out through such projects that benefit the needy.

In June this year, a total of 110 brand new wheel chairs were received and have been distributed through the Rotary Clubs and Lions Club. 

According to Heyer this was the fifth shipment of wheel chairs since the Fiji Wheel Chairs started shipment of wheel chairs to Fiji in 2012.

Heyer also highlighted that each shipment is sponsored by companies so this year adding that the most recent shipment was sponsored by Lords Jewellers with each of the wheel chairs costing USD$150 and a shipment is worth around FJD $40,000.
