Good news for youths who are looking to complete their formal education after dropping out of school as the Ministry of Youth and Sports has drafted a National Youth Policy to help assist young people in this regard.
While officiating at the first public consultation of the revised National Youth Policy 2018-2022, Minister for Youth, Laisenia Tuitubou says that the policy is designed to strengthen youth development in all fields and to address presenting issues youths are facing today.
Tuitubou says the policy has been developed with its main approach and focus on the individual youth- a person between the ages of 15-35 years who may need to built up in terms of education and skills and empowered in every way to be able to live a full and happy life.
He has urged youths present at the consultation to engage in effective deliberation and make their contribution to the policy before it is finalized and presented to cabinet.
The Minister for Youth adds that there are also various other organizations that work with youths in different communities and their input will be valuable but the youths’ input is crucial to the further development of the policy to help the future of this nation.
Meanwhile a total of 60 people were present at the first public consultation of the revised National Youth Policy 2018-2022, compromising of 30 stakeholders and 30 youth from the Central and Eastern Division.
