The 2018 Junior Pan Pacific Swimming Championship continues today with the Women’s 100 metres freestyle heats.
Rosemarie Rova, Jodie-Ana Puamau, Rokowati Mara, Jane Smith and Evitah Yee will represent Fiji in this event.
USA’s Gretchen Walsh, Lucie Normann and Isabel Ivey will be the favourites for this event.
The Men’s 100 metres freestyle will have 13 swimmers from Fiji including captain Netani Ross.
Some of the other Fijian swimmers are Tema Yalimaiwai, James Kado and Troy Maivusa-roko.
Drew Kiebler from USA will be the favourite for this event.
The Fijian swimmers will be hoping to better their performance from yesterday as they failed to qualify for the A finals.
In last night’s final’s, Claire Tuggle and Drew Kibler from USA won the Women’s and Men’s 200 metres freestyle finals.
Phoebe Bacon and Destin Lasco from USA won the Women’s and Men’s 100 metres backstroke while Gianluca Urlando and Olivia Carter also from the USA won the Men’s and Women’s 200 metres butterfly event.
Team USA currently lead with 7 gold, 6 silver and 2 bronze. Australia is in second place with 1 gold and 1 silver while China is in third place with 1 gold.
Fiji has not won any medals so far.
