It was another tough day for the Fijian swimmers at the 2018 Junior Pan Pacific Swimming Championship.
In the Women’s 100 metres freestyle heats, Rosemarie Rova, Jodie-Ana Puamau, Jane Smith and Evitah Yee failed to qualify for the final.
USA’s Lucie Nordmann, Gretchen Walsh, Australia’s Eliza King and Japan’s Nagisa Ikemoto will be the favourites for this event.
It was the same story in the Men’s 100 metres freestyle heats as none of the 13 Fijian swimmers qualified for the finals.
Drew Kibler of USA will be the favourite to win the title after recording the fastest time in the heats.
Thomas Liebregts and Sam Yalimaiwai of Fiji have qualified for the B final of the Men’s 100 metres breaststroke.
Daniel Roy of USA will be the favourite for this event.
The finals of the 100 metres freestyle and the 100 metres breaststroke will be held from 5pm today at the Damodar Aquatic Centre.
