Melbourne Storm skipper Cameron Smith says  the challenges his side has overcome in 2018 has them well‑placed to be at their best for this Sunday's NRL Grand Final showdown with the Sydney Roosters.

Storm and Roosters players attended the NRL Fan Fest yesterday afternoon and while addressing the fans, Smith said the team has faced their own challenges throughout the entire season with injuries and suspensions but they have overcome all of those challenges going into this weekend’s final.

The experienced skipper also says that if they play well they have a chance of taking the premiership but it's going to take a big effort and a big 80 minutes against a very good side.

Meanwhile, Roosters captain Boyd Cordner did not mince his words saying the reason they play rugby league, is to play in grand finals and to play for premierships.

Melbourne Storm meet the Roosters at 9.20pm Sunday in the NRL Grand Final.
