The Ministry of Employment, Productivity and Industrial Relations has started with its Paperless Labour Inspection consultation with a Labour Inspection Specialist from the International Labour Organisation Bangkok Rene Robert and the International Labour Organization Office for the Pacific.

A government statement says discussions held focused on the modification of the Labour inspection process in Fiji that will see that Labour and OHS Inspectorates no longer carry inspection files but will instead carry Tablet computers to conduct Labour Inspections.

The outcome of the meeting in Bangkok resulted in the two parties collaborating on the preparation of a policy framework that will see a transition from a manual labour inspection to a computer-based or e-based one.
