National Federation Party Leader Professor Biman Prasad walked out of Parliament this morning before Prime Minister, Voreqe Bainimarama moved the motion to thank the President for his opening speech in Parliament.

Prasad has also told us that he will not comment on whether he will return for the remainder of the session today.

Prasad stood up in Parliament and spoke on a point of order saying it his firm and unequivocal belief that Attorney General, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum misled the Parliament yesterday while raising points of order against his contribution to the motion for the adoption of the Parliamentary Standing Orders.

He told the Speaker of Parliament, Dr. Jiko Luveni that he has checked the Daily Hansard and recording of the proceedings and both are consistent with what he is saying.

Professor Prasad then quoted the exchanges during the debate on the motion in Parliament yesterday from the Hansard.

Prasad also told the Speaker that he is not finished when she had said Prasad’s point of order was clear and she will make a ruling on this later.

Biman Prasad then walked out of Parliament and when approached for a comment by Legend FM News outside the chamber, Prasad stated that he is disappointed.
