Brodie Retallick and Sam Cane will co‑captain the Chiefs for the upcoming Super Rugby season.
Cane has co‑captained the team since 2016 and is expected to return to the field near the end of April as he continues to recover from injury.
The Chiefs will play their first pre‑season match against the Blues this Saturday at 3.00pm before heading to Brisbane to play the Queensland Reds on Friday 8 February.
The Chiefs and the Highlanders will kick off the Super Rugby competition on the 15th of next month at 7.35pm at FMG Stadium Waikato.
