Ahead of the kick off of the Las Vegas 7s this weekend, Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s Coach Gareth Baber says he believes there is no bad energy in the team that caused some of their top players to be in trouble with the law.

Captain Kalione Nasoko is facing a charge of drink and driving and playmaker Amenoni Nasilasila is facing a rape charge.

He says they have talked out how to mature as a group stressing that a lot of the boys that come into the sevens environment have had less exposure internationally compared to most of the Flying Fijians who have learnt the traits of how to conduct themselves as international players.

Baber says they are teaching the players that when you are at the standard of an international player, you may make a mistake but you will have to front it up as well.

He says he does not believe that there is a huge discipline problem in terms of them as a group.

Fiji will face Scotland in their first match of the Las Vegas 7s at 11.22am this Saturday, they will then face Wales at 2.23pm on the same day. Fiji will then face Australia at 7.52am on Sunday.

The Cup quarterfinals will start at 1.46pm Sunday, semifinals will start at 9.12am Monday and the Cup final will kick off at 12.30pm on the same day.
