A woman in her 40's has passed away after she was involved in an accident along the Queens Road near Naevuevu, Sigatoka yesterday.
The woman was travelling to Nadi with 4 other passengers in a vehicle driven by a woman in her 20's which veered off the road hitting steel railings on the side of the road.
The victim was rushed to the Sigatoka Hospital and was pronounced dead on arrival.
Four other passengers were treated at the hospital and sent home.
The road death toll currently stands at 11 compared to 8 for the same period last year.
