The Ministry for Industry and Trade has assisted 265 young entrepreneurs under the Young Entrepreneurship Scheme.

The Young Entrepreneurship Scheme promotes and harnesses the talents of young Fijian entrepreneurs between the ages of 18 and 30 years with funding of up to $20,000 to develop or expand their innovative business ideas.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade says that some of the businesses that have been successfully undertaken include tiny homes construction, health and fitness apps, traffic management, hydroponic agriculture and green energy.

It says that it has conducted  eight trainings on "Starting Your Own Business" that includes basic business fundamentals and the skills required for establishing and managing a business for young Fijians across all four divisions.

The Ministry of Trade says that a number of other innovative projects are also currently under consideration by the private sector‑led Young Entrepreneurship Selection Panel of experts.
