The Fiji Roads Authority says a private organisation or an individual can work on the idea of starting ferry services between Lami, Suva and Nausori during peak hours to ease traffic congestion.
CEO, Jonathan Moore says this is an idea however it is not in the FRA portfolio.
Moore says they have about three kilometres from Lami to Sukuna Park and a car park could be placed in Lami and bring the people across using the ferry.
He says the same can be done in Nausori.
Meanwhile, the FRA has plans to construct a four‑lane road along the Lami to Suva corridor.
The CEO says this will require a lot of planning, consultations and land acquisition.
