Hurricanes halfback and captain TJ Perenara launched a spirited defence of his forward pack after his side's captain's run, saying criticism of his forward pack not matching with the Crusaders has been wide of the mark.
Perenara says their pack is doing a really good job for them and doing the basics well and limiting their mistakes against a Crusaders team which viciously preys on other opposition errors were the areas Perenara identified as most important to their chances of success tonight at Westpac Stadium in Wellington.
The Hurricanes will take on defending champions, the Crusaders at 6.35 tonight while the Waratahs take on the Sunwolves at 8.35pm.
