Sunwolves coach Tony Brown believes ‘bad blood’ exists between South Africa and Japan and it led to the decision for the Japanese‑based franchise to be removed from Super Rugby after 2020.

Fox Sports reports Brown says the South Africans were ‘dead against’ having the Sunwolves involved.

There are now thoughts about whether the Sunwolves deserve to be kicked out as they beat the Waratahs over the weekend.

It was the Japanese side’s first win on Australian soil in Super Rugby, to go alongside their first win in New Zealand earlier this season against the Chiefs.

This is shocking as the Waratahs had only beaten the Crusaders a week ago.

In Super Rugby this week, the Highlanders meet the Hurricanes at 6.35pm Friday and the Stormers meet the Reds at 9pm Friday.

On Saturday, the Crusaders meet the Brumbies at 4.15pm while the Rebels meet the Waratahs at 6.35pm.
