With just 3 days to go, the Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s captain Paula Dranisinukula says he is ready to lead the national side in the Hong Kong 7s tournament this week.
Speaking from Hong Kong, Dranisinukula says it is every Fijian player’s dream to play in this tournament and to lead the pack in front of thousands of fans is just something else.
He says the team knows that it will not be an easy task to march through to the quarterfinals as they are in a tough pool including New Zealand, Australia and Kenya.
The new captain has asked fans for their support during the three day tournament at So Kon Po Stadium this weekend.
Fiji will take on Kenya at 11.37pm Friday in their first pool match of the Hong Kong 7s, they will then take on Australia at 5.13pm Saturday and play their final pool match against New Zealand at 8.55pm Saturday.
The Cup quarterfinals will start at 2.58pm Sunday, Cup semifinals start at 7.41pm Sunday while the Cup final is at 11pm Sunday.
Barring any upsets Fiji could face France or Argentina in the quarterfinals, South Africa or England in the semifinal and New Zealand or USA in the final.
