The former acting CEO of Sugar Research Institute of Fiji Sanjay Prakash has pleaded not guilty to one count of Obtaining Financial Advantage and two counts of General Dishonesty – Causing a Loss.

Prakash was charged by FICAC last October after he allegedly diverted part of the funds paid by the Sugar Research Institute of Fiji to Scan Consulting Pty Ltd into an outside company with no affiliation to Sugar Research Institute of Fiji namely AAA – 24/7 Bins Pty Ltd and gained $16,900.00 AUD.

He is also alleged to have caused a further loss of $3,500.00 to Sugar Research Institute of Fiji by causing payments to be made to Lovely Auto Repairs for the purchase of storage containers.

The case has been adjourned to the 29th of this month.
