Attorney General, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says the Vola ni Kawa Bula or Native Land Register digitization has taken place through the arrangement by Yalamanchili International PTE Limited and as at 20th February this year, 112,000 tokatoka and more than 640,000 members have had their manual records converted and digitized with the Geographic Information System mapping.
Sayed-Khaiyum says through this digitization, they know exactly where these people are and this includes all members of the landowning unit including babies and children.
He revealed this when SODELPA MP Aseri Radrodro asked him to give an update on the progress of work arising out of the Public Private Partnership signed between Government and Yalamanchili International PTE Limited.
Sayed-Khaiyum says says through this arrangement with Yalamanchili, there has been digital implementation of social pension and care and benefit schemes.
He says through this software the details of the beneficiaries of these schemes are digitally recorded and so far, 3,216 beneficiaries have been digitized through the software.
Sayed-Khaiyum says that the e-tender portal has also been introduced.
Meanwhile, SODELPA MP, Niko Nawaikula questioned Sayed-Khaiyum on measures that government will put in place to guarantee the security of information to avoid information taken out of the country.
Sayed-Khaiyum says the data and its integrity remains with them and this how they protect their information.
