The Hurricanes are about to lose their most experienced lock after Sam Lousi signed a deal to join Welsh club Scarlets next year.
After making the code switch from the Warriors, Lousi initially struggled at the Waratahs but a move to Wellington has seen his game thrive since 2017.
His departure is another blow to the Hurricanes who already lack depth in the tight five and will also farewell All Blacks Nehe Milner‑Skudder, Jeff Toomaga‑Allen and Matt Proctor.
In Super Rugby this week, the Highlanders meet the Hurricanes at 6.35pm Friday and the Stormers meet the Reds at 9pm Friday.
On Saturday, the Crusaders meet the Brumbies at 4.15pm while the Rebels meet the Waratahs at 6.35pm.
